Overview
An introduction to Reserve Index DTFs
Index DTFs
The Reserve Index Protocol is a permissionless platform that enables the creation of onchain tokenized-asset indexes called DTFs (Decentralized Token Folios). The assets that back a DTF are custodied by that DTF's smart contract, so finding "proof of reserves" is as simple as looking onchain. Reserve DTFs are completely permissionless to mint from and redeem to their underlying assets, and they conform to the ERC20 standard making them composeable across DeFi and providing users with a unique new market primitive.
Core Features
A DTF is a tokenized basket of assets. The number of tokens that compose a DTF basket can range from one to hundreds, with the limiting factor being the compute available to a single transaction. This looks like:
- 100s on Base
- 10s on Mainnet
Target basket composition and various DTF parameters can be modified by governance. Rebalancing a DTF basket takes place through onchain Dutch Auctions that are open to all onchain market participants.
